Skoda, the Czech automaker best known for its partnership with Volkswagen AG, actually predates VW by decades. Established in 1925 as the successor to Laurin & Klement—a company producing automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles since 1895 in Mlada Boleslav, Kingdom of Bohemia—Skoda Auto is now proudly celebrating 130 years of automotive heritage.

Fabia 130: A Sleeper Hatchback Packed with Performance

To honor this milestone, Skoda introduces a special edition of its Fabia supermini: the Fabia 130. While it retains the understated look of the Monte Carlo flagship, this model hides impressive performance under its hood, making it a true hot hatch sleeper.

Boasting the title of Skoda's "fastest series-produced Fabia model to date," the Fabia 130 delivers 177 PS (175 hp) and tops out at 142 mph. Developed by Skoda's Technical Development team and inspired by the brand's rally successes, this edition takes the Fabia to new heights.

Powered by the latest Volkswagen AG 1.5-liter TSI engine, the Fabia 130 features custom chassis tuning designed to create the most engaging driving experience yet. Upgrades include a revised dual-clutch DSG transmission and enhanced chassis and aerodynamic components.

The reworked 1.5 TSI EVO2 engine gains 27 horsepower over the standard version, reaching 177 PS (130 kW/175 hp). The seven-speed DSG transmission is recalibrated to handle 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the Fabia 130 to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 7.4 seconds—0.6 seconds faster than the standard model—and achieve a top speed of 142 mph, making it the quickest series-produced Fabia ever.

Additional highlights include a 15-mm lowered suspension, 18-inch Libra alloy wheels, recalibrated steering, Normal and Sport driving modes, and a two-stage Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR). Exterior refinements feature Moon White, Velvet Red, Race Blue, or Black Magic paint options, complemented by a gloss black roof, pillars, and mirrors.

A black horizontal stripe at the rear pays homage to the Fabia Rally2 livery, while twin exhaust tips underscore its performance. Inside, sport electric seats, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with DSG paddles, stainless steel pedals, and grey and black aluminum trim on the dashboard and doors complete the package.

As part of its 130th anniversary celebration, Skoda offers the Fabia 130, giving enthusiasts a chance to experience a thrilling combination of style, heritage, and performance.
