Skoda Introduces Tetris to Cars: Elroq and Enyaq Lead the Way

Czech automaker Skoda is revolutionizing in-car entertainment with the launch of an onboard Tetris game, made possible through a collaboration with cloud gaming platform AirConsole. This exclusive feature will debut in the electric Skoda Elroq and Enyaq models starting late 2024.

    Enhancing Entertainment During Charging Breaks

With electric vehicles requiring charging downtime, keeping passengers entertained—especially kids—has become a priority. Infotainment systems have evolved rapidly, incorporating gaming options provided by services like AirConsole to fill those waiting moments.

AirConsole offers 15 games preloaded into the infotainment system, ranging from casual puzzles and action games to racing and sports challenges. Skoda Elroq and Enyaq drivers can enjoy this diverse lineup, with Tetris as the standout title.

The in-car Tetris experience uses smartphones as controllers, displaying the game on the EV’s main screen while playing audio through the car’s speakers. Players can compete solo or connect multiple phones for multiplayer matches.

Beyond Tetris, the two Skoda EVs include popular AirConsole games such as 'UNO Car Party' and 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'. Skoda plans to expand the game collection with future updates.

To ensure safety, AirConsole games are accessible only when the vehicle is parked, preventing driver distraction. Additionally, Skoda now integrates Spotify directly into the infotainment system, allowing seamless access to music and podcasts without needing a smartphone.
