Skoda Grows Its Electrified Lineup with Octavia Select Hybrid and Superb PHEV
Skoda Auto, the Czech automaker, has introduced its latest electrified vehicles in Australia: the Octavia Select Hybrid, Octavia Wagon Hybrid, and the Superb Plug-in Hybrid.
Pricing and Features of the Latest Generation Models
The new Octavia Select Hybrid starts at a competitive drive-away price of AUD 43,990 (about $31,000), while the flagship Superb plug-in hybrid is priced at AUD 66,990 (roughly $47,000). Skoda positions itself as one of Australia's most affordable European brands offering hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.
The Octavia Select Hybrid combines a 1.5-liter TSI engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, improving fuel efficiency and everyday performance. This setup delivers 110 kW (148 hp) and is paired with a smooth seven-speed DSG transmission.
Available exclusively as a station wagon in the Select grade, the Superb PHEV offers a combined system output of 150 kW (201 hp), a 25.7 kWh battery, and an official WLTP electric driving range of at least 112 km (70 miles). In contrast, the petrol Superb model is offered only in the Sportline trim.
The Superb PHEV supports AC charging up to 11 kW and DC fast charging at up to 50 kW, enabling a battery recharge from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes.
