First Look at Skoda Peaq: The Electric Crossover Set to Rival the Kodiaq
Set to debut in Europe this summer, the Skoda Peaq is a new electric crossover built on the VW Group's MEB platform. Production will take place at Skoda's Mlada Boleslav factory in the Czech Republic, marking the brand's bold step into electric SUVs.
Design and Features
Measuring 191.9 inches (4,874 mm) in length, the Peaq surpasses the Kodiaq in size from bumper to bumper. It offers flexible seating configurations for five or seven passengers and provides up to 35.7 cubic feet (1,010 liters) of cargo space, complemented by a 1.3 cubic feet (37 liters) front trunk (frunk) for additional storage.
Inside, the Peaq boasts a range of premium features including an electrochromic panoramic roof, ergonomic massaging seats with leg rests, an upgraded audio system, and a head-up display enhanced with augmented reality. A newly introduced 13.6-inch infotainment touchscreen completes the modern interior tech suite.
Specifications
The Peaq will come with two battery options and three distinct powertrain setups. The base model is equipped with a rear-mounted motor producing 201 horsepower, powered by a 63 kWh battery offering an estimated range exceeding 286 miles (460 km).
The larger 91 kWh battery powers the 90 and 90x variants, delivering over 373 miles (600 km) on a single charge. The 90 version generates 282 horsepower, while the sportier 90x features 295 horsepower paired with all-wheel drive.
Rendering
Digital artist @avarvarii has crafted lifelike renderings of the Peaq based on official images and recent Skoda models. The CGI visuals emphasize a vibrant lime green exterior with signature black plastic cladding along the lower body panels, clearly reflecting Skoda's design language.
The Skoda Peaq is anticipated to reach European showrooms later this year, with pre-orders opening during the summer. View more on Skoda for additional news and updates from the brand.
