2026 Skoda Epiq Revealed Nearly Unmasked with Modern Design

Discover the 2026 Skoda Epiq, a subcompact electric SUV with a fresh design, competitive range, and versatile cargo space, set to join Skoda's EV lineup.

2026 Skoda Epiq Comes Out To Play Almost Undisguised

Skoda, a key Volkswagen Group brand from the Czech Republic, is expanding its electric vehicle lineup in 2026 with two new battery-electric SUVs. Ahead of the larger Peaq debuting in mid-2026, the smaller B-segment Epiq crossover will join Skoda's lineup.

    Design and Features

Recently spotted in near-production form during cold-weather testing, the Epiq shows minimal camouflage with design cues inspired by the Elroq, evident in the distinctive stickers at the front and rear. Shorter than the Elroq, the Epiq is Skoda's first production model to fully embrace the modern Solid design language.

Closer inspection reveals a T-shaped lighting signature and a Jeep-style slotted grille incorporated into the lower front bumper. Marketed as an urban crossover, the Epiq's dimensions align closely with the Kamiq model.

    Specifications

Skoda confirms the Epiq measures 4,171 millimeters (164 inches) in length, with a 2,601-millimeter (102.4 inches) wheelbase. Its cargo capacity offers up to 475 liters (16.8 cubic feet) behind the rear seats, expanding impressively to 1,544 liters (54.5 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded flat.

The Epiq rides on the front-biased MEB+ platform, distinct from the rear-biased MEB platform used on larger models. A notable difference is the use of rear disc brakes on MEB+ vehicles compared to rear drums on MEB models.

    Trim Levels and Range

The 2026 Epiq will be available in three trims: 35, 40, and 55. The 35 and 40 trims feature 38.5-kWh batteries (37 kWh net), delivering up to 315 kilometers (196 miles) WLTP range on a full charge.

Charging from 10 to 80 percent takes under 30 minutes for the 40 trim. Both 35 and 40 trims use LFP battery cells, differing mainly in DC fast-charging capabilities (50 kW for the 35 and 90 kW for the 40) and power output (85 kW vs. 99 kW).

The top-tier 55 trim offers 155 kW (208 horsepower) powered by a 51.7 kWh net NMC battery, providing the longest WLTP range of 430 kilometers (267 miles). Currently, no dual-motor versions are planned, and Volkswagen Group is unlikely to develop dual-motor variants for MEB+ models.

The shift from rear-wheel drive in MEB vehicles to front-wheel drive in MEB+ was primarily to maximize trunk space and optimize urban usability.
