2026 Skoda Eviatiq Electric People Carrier Spied, Inspired by Vision 7S Concept
Skoda is expanding its electric lineup with the upcoming Eviatiq, a full-electric sibling to the popular Kodiaq, featuring an intriguing rear drum brake setup.
Design and Features
Skoda’s largest battery-electric vehicle to date is expected to carry the name Eviatiq, a name confirmed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) filing in March 2023.
Spotted testing on the steeply banked Karussell track, the Eviatiq’s design appears notably flat and wide. Interestingly, it uses rear drum brakes, a choice unusual among modern vehicles, especially since many combustion engine models now use disc brakes on all wheels.
Inspired by the Vision 7S concept, the family-sized electric SUV will feature a large landscape-oriented infotainment screen, flush pop-out door handles, and small front quarter windows to enhance driver visibility.
Specifications
The Eviatiq is projected to measure approximately 4.9 meters (129.9 inches) in length, making it slightly longer than the Enyaq.
Its electric system will support up to 400 volts, with an estimated battery capacity around 89 kWh. Fast charging capability is expected to peak at 200 kW, enabling quicker recharges.
Competition
The Eviatiq’s direct competitors are limited but include models like the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9, along with the somewhat smaller Peugeot e-5008.
Unfortunately, these options typically carry high price tags, often making seven-seat electric SUVs less accessible. For example, the Peugeot e-5008 starts at about 51,250 euros (approximately 59,295 US dollars).
