    Offering an electric driving range of 70 miles and a combined output of 201 horsepower, the new plug-in hybrid model will slot between the Sportline and RS trims.

    Mid-Size Plug-In Hybrid Crossover Set for Launch Down Under

    Skoda is expanding its second-generation Kodiaq lineup in Australia with a new plug-in hybrid variant. The Skoda Kodiaq Select PHEV is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2026.

    This electrified mid-size crossover will be positioned between the mid-spec Sportline and the top-tier RS (known as vRS in the UK). It seats five passengers comfortably and offers a spacious trunk with 745 liters (26.3 cubic feet) of cargo capacity.

    Efficient and Powerful Powertrain

    The Kodiaq Select PHEV pairs a 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine with an 85 kW (114 hp) electric motor, delivering a combined output of 150 kW (201 hp) and torque of 350 Nm (258 lb-ft).

    It accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in 8.4 seconds and can travel up to 112 km (70 miles) on electric power alone, according to WLTP standards. The battery supports fast charging with 11 kW AC and 50 kW DC capabilities, and the vehicle achieves a combined fuel consumption of just 1.85 l/100 km.

    Advanced Features and Technology

    Drivers can switch between electric and hybrid modes to optimize performance and efficiency. Standard features include 19-inch wheels, keyless entry, power-folding heated side mirrors, a three-zone automatic climate control system, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat.

    Inside, the Kodiaq Select PHEV boasts a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen with DAB+ digital radio, built-in navigation, wireless smartphone integration, two 15W wireless charging pads, and five USB-C ports.

    Safety technologies include Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Travel Assist, Side Assist, Turn Assist, Lane Assist with Adaptive Lane Guidance, Front Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Emergency Assist, and more.

    Pricing and Availability

    Skoda will introduce a new Select trim featuring the PHEV powertrain alongside the 2.0L TSI gasoline engine, replacing the discontinued Launch Edition. Pricing details for the Kodiaq Select PHEV will be announced soon.

    The current 2026 Kodiaq range in Australia includes the base Select 2.0 TSI 4x4 at AU$56,990 (US$37,425), the mid-level Sportline 2.0 TSI 4x4 starting at AU$61,990 (US$40,705), and the flagship RS 4x4 priced from AU$76,990 (US$50,555).
