Skoda Elroq Electric Crossover Preview: Stunning Renders & Specs Ahead of October Launch

Skoda Elroq Masterfully Rendered, New Electric Crossover Due in October

The launch of the Skoda Elroq electric crossover is just around the corner, with an official reveal scheduled for next month. While we await the confirmed design, digital artists have already crafted impressive renderings that capture the essence of this upcoming model.

A Glimpse into the Future: Elroq's Design Highlights

Based on recent renderings from Kolesa, the Elroq is expected to showcase a distinctive exterior featuring a split headlight setup paired with a closed-off grille. The upper lights serve as daytime running lights, positioned alongside the side air vents on the bumper to create a sleek front fascia.

The hood and bumper shapes appear accurately depicted, complemented by the bold Skoda lettering on the nose. Final production models may include black trim around the wheel arches, but the profile lines, door handles, side mirrors, side skirts, window contours, and roof rails are likely to remain true to these renderings.

Similarly, the tailgate, rear bumper, taillights, rear license plate placement, and roof rails in the illustrations align closely with expected production details. The only notable discrepancy concerns the placement of the rear reflectors, which seem closer to the tailgate in the renderings than on the actual vehicle.

Technical Specifications: Powertrain Options and Range

The Elroq is built on Volkswagen Group's MEB platform and will debut with multiple battery and powertrain choices. The base Elroq 50 comes with a 52 kWh battery, while the Elroq 60 upgrades to a 59 kWh pack. At the top end, the Elroq 85 and dual-motor Elroq 85x feature a larger 77 kWh battery.

    The Elroq 85x stands out as the only all-wheel-drive variant, delivering a robust 296 hp (300 ps/220 kW). The rear-wheel-drive Elroq 85 offers 281 hp (285 ps/210 kW), and the Elroq 60 provides 201 hp (204 ps/150 kW). The entry-level model generates 168 hp (170 ps/125 kW).

Skoda claims that the two highest trims will achieve an impressive range exceeding 348 miles (560 km) and support fast charging up to 175 kW, ensuring minimal downtime on the road.

The countdown to the Skoda Elroq’s official unveiling continues, promising a compelling addition to the electric crossover segment with a blend of style, performance, and efficiency.
