Skoda Epiq Emerges as VW ID. Cross Twin with Spy Shots Revealing Key Details
The Skoda Epiq is an upcoming all-electric SUV built on Volkswagen Group's MEB+ platform, scheduled for a 2026 debut. Recently spotted testing near the Arctic Circle, the vehicle gives us a glimpse into its design and features despite the camouflage.
Design and Features
Though the prototype remains largely concealed, distinctive elements stand out. The front fascia features a unique eight-slot bumper reminiscent of Jeep’s classic seven-slot grille. The lighting setup includes a split-headlamp design, with the main headlights positioned lower and LED daytime running lights with turn signals above.
At the rear, the Epiq offers a wide-opening tailgate facilitating easy access to a spacious cargo area. The LED taillights showcase a boomerang shape and are likely connected by an illuminated light strip, enhancing its modern look.
Specifications and Launch Details
Built on VW Group’s versatile MEB+ architecture, shared with models like the Cupra Raval and VW ID. Polo, the Skoda Epiq is expected to feature a front-mounted electric motor driving the front wheels.
The powertrain will likely include a 52 kWh battery pack delivering about 200 horsepower, enabling an estimated driving range of around 265 miles (425 kilometers). A more powerful variant may be introduced later, with potential for extended range options.
Manufactured in Spain, the Epiq is anticipated to be approximately 164 inches (4,160 mm) long with a 102-inch (2,600 mm) wheelbase. Pricing should start near €25,000 (approximately $29,000), with deliveries planned for late 2026 or early 2027.
