Skoda Felicia Fun Pickup Revived in Bold Digital Makeover

Discover the digitally revived Skoda Felicia Fun pickup from the 90s, reinterpreted with bold design and retro flair by designer Julien Petitseigneur.

Skoda Felicia Fun Pickup Digitally Reimagined in a Bold New Concept

The 1990s Skoda Felicia Fun pickup truck has been digitally revived by designer Julien Petitseigneur in the Icons Get a Makeover series, breathing fresh life into this little-known classic.

A Look Back: The Original Felicia Fun

While pickup trucks have limited popularity in Europe despite ample demand from farms and businesses, the continent produced only a handful of native models—among them, the obscure Felicia Fun.

Produced by Skoda (now part of VW) from 1994 to 2001, the Felicia was a B-segment vehicle remembered mainly as the last model built on Skoda’s original platforms. During its seven-year run, it spawned multiple variants including a five-door hatchback, estate, and panel van.

A Modern Take: The Solid-Style Skoda Felicia Fun

The Modern Solid-style Felicia Fun reimagines this classic pickup as part of Skoda’s tribute series honoring legendary models from its history and celebrating contemporary design creativity.

This project is a purely digital creation by French designer Julien Petitseigneur, who combined manual skill with advanced AI tools to craft the concept—not a physical prototype.

    A Bold, Beach-Ready Design

Key elements of the original Felicia peek through beneath a daring new look. The front end merges cues from Skoda’s 2022 Vision 7S concept with stylistic nods to the brand’s latest electric lineup.

At the rear, a 1990s-inspired LED light bar connects T-shaped taillights, while a muscular wide body rides on aerodynamic wheel covers, delivering a bold and beach-ready aesthetic.

    Retro-Inspired Interior Details

Inside, the concept features a full-width dashboard displaying retro video game-style graphics on a screen designed to resemble classic CRT monitors, blending tech nostalgia with modern flair.

The digital design process took approximately three hours daily over two weeks. However, Skoda clarifies these reinterpretations are creative exercises for the Icons Get a Makeover series and do not indicate future production models.
