Skoda's Value-Packed Octavia and Kodiaq Gain Mild-Hybrid Power
In Australia, Skoda’s Octavia and Kodiaq Select models have upgraded to a more fuel-efficient powertrain, replacing the previous 2.0L turbo engine with a 1.5L four-cylinder equipped with mild-hybrid technology.
Efficient Powertrain
This new mild-hybrid setup delivers 110 kilowatts (150 ps/147 hp) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, significantly boosting fuel efficiency. Skoda reports the Kodiaq Select mHEV achieves up to 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers (46.1 mpg US). The Octavia Select mHEV sedan and wagon record impressive combined fuel consumption figures of 5.1 and 5.2 l/100 km respectively.
Overall, the Kodiaq posts a combined rating of 6.0 l/100 km (39.2 mpg US) and the Octavia 7.0 l/100 km (33.6 mpg US), marking improvements of 3.0 and 5.1 l/100 km compared to their previous engines.
Signature Pack
The 2026 Skoda Octavia Sportline mHEV can be equipped with the Signature Pack, featuring luxuries like power-adjustable front seats with memory, ventilation, heating, and massage functions, a head-up display, black or cognac upholstery, tinted rear windows, matrix LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels.
A similar Signature Pack is available for the 2026 Skoda Kodiaq Select mHEV in both five- and seven-seat configurations. It offers leather upholstery in cognac or black, memory-equipped massaging front seats, a Canton premium audio system, among other premium touches.
These mild-hybrid Octavia and Kodiaq Select models are not currently available for order in Australia. Reservations will open in early 2026 alongside pricing details and further specifications.
Pricing
The 2025 Skoda Octavia Select includes 18-inch wheels, body-colored exterior trims, a 13-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, LED ambient lighting, a 10-inch virtual cockpit, and more, priced at AU$41,490 (US$27,445) driveaway.
The Octavia Wagon (Combi) Select starts at AU$43,990 (US$29,100). The 2025 Kodiaq Select comes with 19-inch wheels, LED rear lamps, protective side moldings, bright decorative trims, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and perforated leather seats, starting at AU$56,990 (US$37,700) in Australia.
While pricing for the updated mild-hybrid models is yet to be announced, a slight increase is possible. We'll update with details once available.
