Skoda’s CGI Supercar Concept Reimagines the Corvette with Octavia RS Flair

Explore Skoda's CGI supercar concept inspired by the Octavia RS, built on the Corvette C8 platform, aiming to fill the Audi R8's legacy.

Skoda's CGI Supercar: Reimagining the Corvette with Octavia RS Style

With the Audi R8 discontinued, a gap has opened in the Volkswagen Group's portfolio that only the exotic Lamborghini Temerario currently fills. But what if other brands within this German automotive giant's lineup tried their hand at launching a supercar?

A Virtual Design Deserving a Name

This idea isn’t new and has floated around for years, but now the spotlight falls on a striking digital concept from Skoda.

This CGI model is more than just a concept—it’s essentially a rebadged C8 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet's latest generation Corvette lineup includes three models: the Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06.

    The entry-level Stingray starts at $68,300 and features a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 delivering 490 hp (497 ps/366 kW). The E-Ray, priced from $104,900 before fees, offers a hybrid setup producing 655 hp (664 ps/489 kW). The Z06 boasts a 5.5L flat-plane crank V8 with 670 hp (680 ps/490 kW) starting at $112,700.

This summer, Chevrolet will expand the C8 lineup with the ZR1, a top-tier model that surpasses the Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06 in both performance and price.

Imagining a Skoda Supercar Built on the Stingray

Keeping pricing reasonable, a Corvette-based Skoda supercar would likely adopt the Stingray’s platform. This means it would feature the same naturally aspirated V8, producing 490 hp or 495 hp (502 ps/369 kW) with the optional performance exhaust.

This powertrain would significantly outpace the current Octavia RS, which offers 261 hp (265 ps/195 kW) from its 2.0L four-cylinder engine. Notably, the Octavia RS serves as the aesthetic inspiration for these digital renderings.
