Skoda, the well-known Czech automaker, has commenced production of the facelifted 2024 Scala compact hatchback and Kamiq subcompact crossover at its Mlada Boleslav plant in the Czech Republic. These refreshed models feature redesigned front and rear ends with updated lighting, revamped bumpers, refreshed grilles, and new wheel designs.
What’s New in the 2024 Skoda Scala and Kamiq?
The mid-cycle updates include the introduction of more sustainable materials in the upholstery and floor mats, reflecting Skoda’s commitment to reducing environmental impact. Both models are now available across Europe, with prices starting at £22,095 ($28,055) for the Scala and £24,030 ($30,512) for the Kamiq.
Powertrain options for both models include 1.0L and 1.5L TSI gasoline engines, delivering between 95 and 150 ps (94-148 hp/70-110 kW). Entry-level versions come with manual transmissions, while higher trims offer DSG automatic gearboxes.
The sporty Monte Carlo trim is available for both the Scala and Kamiq, featuring distinct exterior and interior styling. The Scala Monte Carlo starts at £27,795 ($35,293), equipped with 18-inch Ursa black diamond wheels, whereas the Kamiq Monte Carlo is priced from £29,275 ($37,172).
While the Scala and Kamiq aren’t currently offered in the United States, Volkswagen's lineup includes comparable models like the Golf GTI, Golf R, Jetta, and Taos. Notably, the Taos shares the MQB A1 platform also used by the Skoda Karoq, SEAT Ateca, and VW T-Roc.
