In 2025, Skoda produced over a million vehicles—most from its Czech plants—cementing its role as a key player in the Volkswagen Group's global lineup.
Skoda Produces Over a Million Vehicles in 2025
Skoda, based in Mlada Boleslav, continues to shine as a vital force within the Volkswagen Group, achieving significant milestones in vehicle production and global deliveries.
A Record Year for Skoda's Vehicle Production
In 2025, Skoda manufactured an impressive 1,065,000 vehicles worldwide, a 15% increase from the previous year. This growth highlights Skoda's ongoing commitment to innovation and expansion.
Beyond vehicles, Skoda's component production also grew robustly. The brand produced over 329,000 battery systems used in Volkswagen Group’s plug-in hybrids, battery electric, and mild-hybrid models, alongside 1,030,000 transmissions and more than 500,000 engines.
The battery systems are developed for a range of electrified vehicles, while the Vrchlabi and Mlada Boleslav plants manufacture five-, six-, and seven-speed transmissions, including the DQ200-series dual-clutch transmission with a dry-clutch design supporting up to 250 Newton-meters (184 pound-feet) of torque.
Skoda’s engine lineup ranges from the efficient 1.0-liter MPI three-cylinder up to the 1.6-liter MPI, with variants like the 1.0 TSI, 1.4, and 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engines powering many models.
Mlada Boleslav Plant: The Production Powerhouse
The Mlada Boleslav plant remains central to Skoda's output, producing approximately 605,600 vehicles in 2025. This includes well-known models such as the Fabia subcompact, Scala compact, Kamiq crossover, Enyaq, Enyaq Coupe, and Elroq. Notably, this plant adapts to market demands by assembling both internal combustion and electric vehicles on the same production line.
Another key facility, the Kvasiny plant, increased production to around 301,500 vehicles in 2025, manufacturing models like the Octavia, three-row Kodiaq crossover, and Karoq—prompting the addition of a second production line to meet demand.
The Bratislava plant produces the spacious Superb alongside Volkswagen’s Passat wagon. Skoda’s global footprint extends with manufacturing sites in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, India, and China, reinforcing its status as a worldwide automotive brand.
