Skoda UK Rolls Out Emergency Service 2025 Octavia vRS
Skoda's UK division has announced the 2025 Octavia vRS is now available for emergency service fleets across the United Kingdom. Currently, the vRS trim is the only option offered, with choices between turnkey conversions or tailored modifications.
Practicality Meets Performance
The emergency vehicle lineup includes both the Octavia vRS liftback and wagon, configured for police, ambulance, and fire and rescue roles. The wagon variant has successfully passed MET brake safety tests, securing full approval for police use. Featuring a spacious trunk with 640 liters (22.6 cubic feet) capacity, expandable to 1,700 liters (60.0 cubic feet) when rear seats are folded, the Octavia vRS combines functionality with reliability for demanding service conditions.
Under the hood, the Octavia vRS is powered by a 2.0 TSI engine delivering 261 horsepower and 370 Newton-meters (273 pound-feet) of torque. Built on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, the vRS trim reaches a top speed of up to 265 km/h (165 mph).
In the UK market, the Octavia vRS is available exclusively with front-wheel drive, achieving 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds for the liftback and 6.5 seconds for the wagon.
Pricing and Options
The recommended on-the-road price begins at £39,285 ($50,565) for the Octavia vRS Hatchback and £40,390 ($51,995) for the Estate. Well-equipped from the start, the Octavia vRS offers pricing competitive with the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
For enhanced driving dynamics, the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) suspension is an optional upgrade. DCC lowers the ride height by 15 millimeters (0.6 inches) and replaces standard rear shocks with sport-tuned units for sharper handling.
While the Octavia vRS closely matches the Golf GTI's starting price (£40,025), its closest Volkswagen equivalent in the estate segment is the Golf R Estate, which starts at £45,970 in the UK.
