Skoda Unveils New Kodiaq-Sized Electric SUV 'Space' Launching in 2026

Skoda's new electric SUV, 'Space,' arriving in 2026, seats seven and rivals the Kodiaq, promising impressive range and modern design.

Skoda Unveils Kodiaq-Sized Electric SUV 'Space' Set to Arrive in 2026

Arriving at dealerships across Europe in 2026, Skoda's new electric SUV named Space combines sleek styling with practicality. This family-sized crossover features the brand's Modern Solid design language and showcases the updated Skoda logo.

    Design and Platform Details

Visually, the Space closely resembles the smaller Epiq, sharing signature LED lighting and front and rear fascia designs. However, beneath the surface, these two all-electric models differ significantly. The subcompact Epiq is built on the front-wheel-drive MEB Entry platform, while the Space rides on the standard MEB platform with a rear-biased drivetrain.

Measuring 4.9 meters long and offering seating for up to seven passengers, the Space is nearly 10 inches (250 millimeters) longer than the Enyaq and rivals the size of the combustion-powered Kodiaq, but with an electric powertrain.

    Competition and Expected Range

The Space will directly compete with models like the Kia EV9, which boasts up to 512 kilometers (318 miles) of range in Europe. Considering the Vision 7S concept's WLTP-rated range of 600 kilometers (373 miles), Skoda may deliver similarly impressive numbers for the production Space.

Alongside the Space and Epiq, Skoda plans to launch the Combi, an electric wagon inspired by the iconic Octavia Combi. Also arriving in 2026, the Combi will use the MEB platform and offer a zero-emission alternative in wagon form.
