The Venuum Mastodon V3 Special Black Satin Edition: A Mercedes-AMG G 63 Like No Other
In the world of tuning, some projects stand out for all the right reasons. Others, not so much. The Venuum Mastodon V3 Special Black Satin Edition is a perfect example of the latter. This Mercedes-AMG G 63 has been transformed into a showstopper, but perhaps too many modifications have made it lose its unique charm.
A Design That's More Flash Than Class
At first glance, the Venuum Mastodon's satin black finish looks sleek and sophisticated. However, upon closer inspection, things start to go awry. The rectangular headlights, for instance, seem like an odd choice, especially when compared to the original OEM units. And don't even get us started on the shark-like gills replicated on the side skirt attachments – they do more harm than good.
The rear diffuser also doesn't quite fit in with the overall design, and the custom spare wheel holder is a nice touch, but it's not enough to save this project from its overall lack of subtlety. The hood, chin spoiler, and new bumper all contribute to a look that's more OTT than elegant.
A Silver Lining
Despite the questionable design choices, there are some redeeming qualities to the Venuum Mastodon. The fender flares are rather cool, and the front and rear bumpers have a certain Brabus-esque flair. The custom spare wheel holder is also a nice touch.
The interior, featuring black and white leather upholstery with suede inserts, looks comfortable and stylish. Fresh floor mats and other trim bits add to the overall ambiance.
